EAD, THE EDUCATION PRESENT IN THE RIBEIRINHAS COMMUNITIES OF THE BRAZILIAN AMAZON

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of distance education (EAD) as a tool for the sharing of knowledge in the riverside communities of the Brazilian Amazon, especially in the schools of the low Amazon communities, as a concrete example of the experience in a riverside community at the Amapá / Pará Educational Institute - IEAP, educational unit inserted in the Amazonian reality. As a research methodology, the bibliographic research was used, and a field research was carried out at the Instituto Educacional Amapá / Pará - IEAP, conducted through interviews, with previously elaborated questionnaires, with the students and teachers opinions on the subject in question. The results were tabulated and presented in the form of graphs. The focus of this research was to comment on the various experiences in the field of technology already implemented in Brazil, specifically in the field of education, since currently, the conditions of using this field of communication in the service of the expansion of education are a reality. Thus, the Educational Informatics Laboratory - LIED can be used as a support for distance education, because with EAD technology, the student has, in the more distant regions of Brazil, conditions to access the same sources of knowledge available in the institutions of education of urban centers. EAD technology is truly democratizing education in Brazil, since in this educational unit of the riverside region of the Amazon, it made possible the arrival of the knowledge to the students of the distant riverside regions of the Brazilian Amazon.
